This Lew Electric pop-up assembly meets the latest 2023 NEC 406.5E standards for safe kitchen countertop outlet installations in the USA and Canada. The outlet features a 20A duplex DECORA style outlet with tamper-proof plugs and is UL 498 listed for reliability and safety. It has undergone rigorous testing, including the UL 498 spill test, endurance, mechanical load, dielectric voltage, and temperature tests. A gasket under the bezel ensures that liquids won’t enter the sides between the countertop and the base of the pop-up, keeping the outlet safe from moisture.

As per the NEC 2023 Code, outlets can no longer be installed on the sides of kitchen islands. Note: The outlet does not come with a power cord. Instead, hardwiring is required via the knockouts at the back of the box, connected to a GFCI circuit.
